Amy is a true adventurer at heart. Whether embarking on a spontaneous trip to see Oprah in NJ, zip-lining through the woods in MA, running down the streets in Boston to be an extra in a movie, or simply trying a new restaurant to find the best nachos and margaritas, she has always approached every experience with infectious enthusiasm.

But it wasn’t just the adventures that made Amy so special; it was her unwavering support. No matter my challenges, Amy was always there, ready to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. She has this incredible ability to make you feel like you could conquer the world, even on your most challenging days. Amy always helped me find the silver lining in everything.

I am sad to say goodbye to Amy at Merrimack High School, but I wish her all the best in Salem. Cheers to more adventures, laughs, and memories down the road together.

  1. Amy came into this world in October of 1976. She was joyfully welcomed by her two brothers and her Dad and I. As she grew she was involved in many sports, one of which was basketball. When she was in the seventh grade, she tried out for and made the girls basketball team. Her Dad got her a mint green t-shirt with black lettering spelling out the word “perseverance “on the front and her number on the back. That word was often used in our family. Fast-forward to 2021 when her Dad was diagnosed with cancer. Amy got him his own mint green T-shirt with the word “perseverance”
on the front with the cancer symbol and a flexed arm. I think that shows just who Amy is – a kind and thoughtful daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.
But don’t think Amy doesn’t like to have fun!
Between her junior and senior year in college, she and her friend Stephanie took a road trip around the country in a 1986 jeep. That was a long summer for her Dad and I, worrying about them. But they made it, having many adventures along the way. I’m pretty sure we heard about many of those adventures, but probably not all of them!
My last comment (my mother always told me not to brag about my children) will be to say that as an adult, Amy has done so much to help us. I am especially grateful when we are having a family gathering and she takes over organizing the event. She and Mike have also hosted many family gatherings at their home. It is nice to see what a competent young woman she has become. We couldn’t be prouder! Love you Am!❤️

  2. My favorite things about Amy is her lead by example mentality and her support! Amy always asked for our input and feedback and would have our department’s best interest in mind when she represented us at Building Leadership meetings. She was also a great support through the “need to vent/rant” times. We sure do miss her at Merrimack High School but we were so happy to see her take on her new adventure! You will always have cheerleaders here at MHS cheering for your continued success! Keep Following Your Dream Amy!

  3. Amy, Thank you for being my little sister. It is so cool to learn more about you through the stories shared here. You are honestly, a huge inspiration. I am amazed at how well you excel at everything in your life. Most importantly, you are an incredibly, caring and loving mom. To be honest, I wasn’t so sure how the whole mothering thing would go, but you are knocking it out of the park!! You have 2 amazing children who are fortunate to have you as a mother. You are also one heck of a daughter. It’s awesome to see how close you have become with mom and dad over the years. In addition to that, you are building tighter bonds with some of our cousins, which is also really cool. You do so much!! And you are also able to somehow carve out time for your friends. Absolutely incredible!! And thank you for inspiring me to clean up my diet. You were the one that got me started on leading a healthier lifestyle. This has, in turn, lead me to improve my energy levels as well as my ability to stay awake. For that, I am eternally grateful. Beyond that, you are, no doubt, an amazing Assistant Principal and I am confident that you positively impacted numerous students’ lives while teaching. I don’t know if I’ve been able to fully express how awesome I think you are Amy, but you are, in my eyes, truly, one awesome human being. You will, most certainly, be able to positively impact many more students’ lives in your new role. Congratulations on the job change!!
